A community fundraiser featuring live music, food and family friendly activities will be held in Lovell later this month to benefit Big Horn County Search and Rescue.
According to event organizers, the fundraiser will take place Friday, Aug. 28, at Armory Park in Lovell. The event begins at 6 p.m. and is free to attend, although donations will be accepted throughout the evening to support the volunteer search and rescue team.
Funds raised will help purchase specialized rescue equipment, support mission operations, provide medical supplies and fund advanced training for volunteers.
The evening’s entertainment will begin with Jim Vaneck at 6 p.m., followed by Reece May and Miranda Snyder at 7 p.m. Headlining the event will be The Smoking Aces, a country rock band with roots in the Big Horn Basin, taking the stage at 8 p.m.
In addition to live music, attendees can enjoy food and beverage vendors, a beer garden, meet members of Big Horn County Search and Rescue and view some of the equipment used during rescue missions.
Big Horn County Search and Rescue is an all volunteer organization consisting of approximately 60 members who respond to emergencies across more than 3,100 square miles of rugged terrain. Organizers say the team is among the busiest in Wyoming and continues to face increased demand for services while working through reductions in county funding.
The fundraiser is being presented through a partnership between The Smoking Aces and the Town of Lovell.
