A Manderson mother and her father have pleaded not guilty to multiple charges stemming from the investigation into the July death of a 2-month-old infant.
According to Cowboy State Daily, 22-year-old Destynie Study and 57-year-old Travis Study entered not guilty pleas in separate Big Horn County court proceedings. Travis Study faces five charges, including felony child endangerment involving methamphetamine exposure, while Destynie Study faces two misdemeanor child endangerment-related charges.
The charges follow an investigation that began after the infant was found unresponsive on July 6. Investigators later executed a search warrant at the family’s camper in Manderson, where court documents allege they discovered unsafe living conditions, evidence of controlled substances and drug paraphernalia.
According to court records cited by Cowboy State Daily, investigators also documented previous contacts involving the Wyoming Department of Family Services and local law enforcement related to concerns about the family’s living conditions before the infant’s death.
The official cause and manner of the infant’s death have not been released. Neither Travis Study nor Destynie Study has been charged with causing the child’s death.
Destynie Study’s next court appearance is scheduled for Nov. 25. Travis Study remains in custody on a $75,000 cash-only bond, and a jury trial is expected to be scheduled within 180 days.
The investigation remains ongoing.
